About Acoustic sing-along with Philip

I have been a professional community musician for over 20 years, encouraging and facilitating people of all ages to participate in singing and music-making. I have been singing in local care homes for 10 years, including those caring for people with dementia. I believe that everyone can sing, and that community singing brings joy, creative expression, valuable physical and mental activity and creates a strong feeling of togetherness and community. I create an inclusive atmosphere where participants often remember and sing out their favourite songs from days gone by and this musical reminiscence brings a lot of joy. I provide accompaniment on acoustic guitar (and piano as well, if you have one) and we can sing a wide range of popular music – traditional, old time favourites, hits from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, a few comedy songs and anything that brings a smile to our faces and gets participants clapping (and often dancing) along. I encourage care staff to join in and they often help out by handing out printed words. I can bring easy-to-play percussion instruments by arrangement. I look forward to singing with you !
