About Sara Louise Aston

Sara Louise Aston is a comedian and actress with a taste for the quirky, kooky and pleasingly unexpected. She first wandered into stand-up after touring comedy roles with Theatre for Youth — and has been chasing laughs, characters and questionable levels of fame ever since. After comedy workshops nudged her from character work into storytelling, Sara took her first one-woman show, Something About Sara, to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007. Casting director Helen Lomas once compared her to “a young Julie Walters” — a compliment Sara continues to buff to a high shine. She later returned with comic ditties and a pink guitar. That is not a euphemism. The guitar eventually retired, making way for pandemic alter ego Jemima Smallbones, who appeared at Camden Fringe in 2022 and Guildford Fringe in 2023. Now performing as herself — probably — Sara has developed a warm, whimsical comic voice full of odd edges, playful detours and strange little truths. In 2025, she reached the semi-finals of The Not So New Comedian at the Museum of Comedy. Her stand-up show Sara Louise Aston Wants to Be Famous began its fame-seeking mission at Camden Fringe in August 2025, before heading to Faversham Fringe, Leicester Comedy Festival and the Rik Mayall Comedy Festival.
